Press Release

Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Inc. has been approved as an institutional participant in the SARA initiative. The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement is an agreement among member states, districts and territories that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. It is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state. SARA is overseen by a National Council and administered by four regional education compacts.

PIMS is now listed as an approved institution on the SARA website (www.nc-sara.org).  Being an institution that participates in SARA means that our programs will be held to higher standards of educational excellence.  PIMS will continue to ensure that our courses and programs that are offered through the SARA initiative provide high quality learning opportunities that can help students reach their goals.
