Oh my gourd, it’s our favorite season! Fall is a preferred season by many due to the chilly weather, beautiful scenery, and exciting fall activities. Like many other cities across the country, Pittsburgh has its fair share of fun events that you can do with your friends before the season quickly changes to winter. Below are our top picks.

Take in the Sight of Colorful, Changing Leaves

Residents of Western Pennsylvania know that they are pretty lucky to be surrounded by such gorgeous scenery. Even when you live in the city, it is still possible for you to go out and enjoy the beauty of the iconic orange, red, and yellow fall leaves.

Some places you could explore to embrace the fall outdoors include:

  • McConnells Mill State Park (roughly 40 miles north of the city)
  • Ohiopyle State Park (roughly 70 miles south of the city)
  • Fall Run Park (roughly 8 miles north of the city)

If you’re not one for a day (or weekend) trip for an outdoor adventure, you could always stay close to home and explore one of the many parks that the city has to offer.
