David and Janet Miller of Meadville have established a permanent endowment with the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation.

The David and Janet Miller Scholarship Fund will benefit the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. The school will use the money to award scholarships to their students to make the cost of their education more affordable.

“After a successful career running a funeral home, David Miller owes a debt of gratitude to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science for giving him the training and education he needed to launch his career,” said Christian Maher, executive director of the foundation. “We are glad to help him give back and pay forward to encourage the next generation of funeral directors.”

The Crawford Heritage Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Crawford County. It helps people make the most of their philanthropy by giving to endowed funds.

Grant awards are made from these funds to support the causes donors care about as well as worthwhile programs they select. They manage more than 100 funds, which benefit more than 100 different organizations, scholarships and charitable purposes. More than $6 million has been awarded since they were established in 1998.
