Two Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science (PIMS) students were recently awarded the Western Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association (WPFDA) scholarship. The students were formally presented the scholarship at WPFDA’s 110th annual convention in Erie, PA. Mr. Norm Wimer, Continuing Education Chairperson of WPFDA and owner of Wimer Funeral Home in Tionesta, PA presented the scholarships to Allison Corcoran, Class #157 and Derek Hines of Class #158. WPFDA has been instrumental over the years in student involvement and has invited every class to their convention. PIMS is grateful for this long lasting relationship. Congratulations to PIMS scholarship recipients and many thanks to WPFDA for their investment in funeral service education.
